Cupping Sessions

A cross-cultural practice, cupping therapy uses fire, heat and glass or silicone cups. Rather than the pressure applied to the body during something like massage, the suction of cupping pulls gently to aid in the release of stiff muscles.

Our integrative cupping sessions also include moxibustion and gua sha.

Pricing
60-min session $70

Description of Services

  • Thai Yoga Bodywork is a sacred practice grounded in elemental theory, with roots in Buddhism and Ayurvedic wisdom.

You will remain fully clothed during an individually tailored whole-body focused practice, combining acupressure massage with assisted yoga and stretching for a truly rejuvenating, restorative experience.

Your session may include Thai Compress medicinal balls or Tok Sen.

  • A universal cultural practice, we use fire, heat and cups to assist in releasing muscles, addressing chronic pain, stiffness, and digestion. This can be a session on its own, or an addition to integrative bodywork. Our sessions are combined with both moxibustion and gua sha.

You will be undressed from the waist up and draped on a massage table during cupping.

Note: Cupping should never be painful, but it involves suction, and some people may experience visible marks or mild skin sensitivity in the area after treatment.

Allow the healing properties of mugwort (i.e. the moxa plant) and smoke to warm your extremities. You will feel the practitioner move this heat on specific points on your back and neck, addressing pain, allowing treatments to penetrate especially in the colder months.

*not for those with sensitivities to plants or smoke

Strengthen your immune system with the ancient technique of gua sha. You will feel deep release ie: muscle tension as the practitioner uses a stone tool to break up congestion in your muscles and fascia, as well as reducing inflammation. Best combined with moxibustion and fire cupping.

Note: May leave visible, painless markings on the body for up to seven days

  • Allow the subtle aromas of plants to fill your senses with wonder. Your body will soak up the warmth that these handmade compresses provide, loosening tightness, and allowing for effective release in conjunction with massage.

*I use ginger, lemongrass, pandan, turmeric, lavender, peppermint, cardamom, and camphor.

**not for those with allergies or sensitivities to plants or scents

  • Chisel away pain by utilizing this ancient massage technique. You will experience rhythmic sound as the practitioner’s tools tap deeper into your muscles and joints during bodywork sessions, also helping to unblock energy pathways in the body.

  • Sink into the realms of relaxation with energy work. You will remain fully-clothed, seated or lying down, experiencing hands above or on your body. Wonderful as a complementary treatment for pre and post-surgical care or when working through spiritual transitions.

  • Experience the whole-body reset that you need. This powerful, lineage practice was developed by Taoist sages over 3,000 years ago. This work is for all bodies with a uterus, anyone who has experienced significant trauma, digestion issues, women’s issues/menopause/fertility, or any person who feels called to this practice.

You will be partially draped and fully dressed to your comfort level with your abdomen exposed on a futon on the floor or a massage table. A medicinal Thai Compress is often used to assist in this treatment.

*Not to be used in place of, but in addition to Western treatments, psychotherapy, or other care the client may be utilizing.

“Rebecca has a deep understanding of how to help a client feel safe and comfortable. I am able to open up with her and have had some incredible ‘downloads’ that she helped to talk me through. I am forever grateful for her guidance.”

-Amber P.

“Having Rebecca’s hands do bodywork is a real honor. I was very impressed by the amount of tension I was able to release after even my very first session of Thai yoga bodywork and reiki.”
